Kate and David, there is no way to express how I feel for your family. Heartbroken for your losses, amazed by your courage, and blessed for having a chance to see how much love there can be in the world. I wish the best for you and your wonderful friends and family, all of whom are truly lucky to have you in their lives.

I am soooo moved by this film. I don't remember who said it best, but her remark was "Sometimes God puts people in the world as an example for the rest of us." Kathleen and David Bagby were the biggest example of grace and more grace any one person can convey. Thank you for allowing me to comment... God bless

One of the most beautiful and emotionally touching films I have seen. How loved Andrew and his son Zachary were by all. What wonderful and devoted parents and grandparents you are. GOD will be with you always in your strength and endurance you have to keep going on and not let their lives be forgotten.

What a beautiful tribute to Andrew and Zachary. I send a prayer for grace and the embrace of love to surround you for your loss and for living on in spite of it. And gratitude for you staying the course of somehow making this right for the other children and their families that this will never happen to. That seems quite a legacy for all of you and your suffering. May you truly know love, may you truly know peace and until you meet them again may God hold you close.

Despite not having cable and not having newspaper deliver to my door. I have not heard about this story or read about this news. And watching the movie left me devastated, heartbroken, inspired, and hopefull all at the same time. What happened was beyond unimaginable. Kate and David are by far the strongest human being I know. Kurt thank you for finishing and sharing this wonderful and touching story. You did an awesome job. I'm sure Andrew and Zachary are smiling down with gratitude for telling their story. I'm so inspired!

After I read Andrew and Zachary's story on Dateline, I was overcome with sadness. I researched and read every story I could find on the internet. I cannot understand how a woman can have so much hate that she would go great lengths to kill not just one, but two. And the other a child whom she brought into this world.
Kate and David, you are a pillar of strength. I do not know anyone who has endured what you have with such grace. You had the moral right to kill, if it meant keeping your grandson safe; but you didn't because you believed the justice system will help you. Sadly it didn't. Hopefully, though, their story may be an eye-opener so that it does not happen again.
Kurt, thank you for this documentary. I have never seen anything as meaningful and powerful. I cried for the most part.
Andrew and Zachary, you are together in Heaven now. Maybe this world was really never meant for someone as beautiful and sweet as you both.

I recently watched your film and I couldn't help but cry and cry and cry. And that was from only spending an hour and a half learning about Andrew, Zachary, Kate and David. The pain you and your family and friends had to endure just seems unfathomable. I commend Kurt and the Bagby's for everything they've/you've done to honor both Andrew's and Zachary's legacies. You're spreading knowledge and love so that others won't have to go through what you did.
Thank you.

Thank you so much for this film. We lost our dear Christopher just before his third birthday. Chris's mother found a new man. A few months later he was beaten to death and dumped his poor body in a tub to make it look like he drowned. The family tried for years to get him away from that poor child...they did nothing. He laid in his casket covered in bruises. He was also sexually molested. The ma that did it only got Manslaughter two. I stayed on him and spoke at his parole board hearing...they made him serve his short sentence. I did what I could to keep him from his other children, fearing the same may happen to them. I demanded drug testing, he failed. I let the men in his prison cell block know he was a child molester and a killer. I applaud you for all you have done for your boys! It's been over 30 years for me since this happened...May God Bless You and Keep You!

TO KURT: I just watched "Dear Zachary" - thank you so much for making such a compelling film. What a tribute to Andrew, Zachary, Kate and David. TO KATE AND DAVID: Wow - the two of you are such a tremendous inspiration - I don't really know how you have been so strong. To be loved as much as you love one another, loved your son and grandson - I can't imagine. Andrew and Zachary were blessed to have you in their lives. You will always be in my prayers.

Nothing is more sickening to the soul than to hear a judge get a ruling wrong. Too many decisions are based on testimony under oath. Under oath means nothing to the criminal mind. This is the best documentary I have seen in a long time. And to Zachary's grandparents: My hat is off to those who understand that the 'system' is not always right.

It is the most difficult thing in Human experience, I believe, to stare evil in the face, ... to remain human and moral, and hold to the values which made your son the wonderful loving man he was. Thank you Kate and David, for your two beautiful gifts to the world, ... and for those you bring to this very day.

Just watched the documentary on Netflix tonight and wanted to say I am SO sorry this happened. It was totally avoidable, IMHO. NO child deserves this. It's so unfair.
